E3 Deuteronomy 4:34-35 NRSV Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by terrifying displays of power, as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? 35 To you it was shown so that you would acknowledge that the LORD is God; there is no other besides him.
D2 [I believe in] the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth (further study God, God’s Work, and The Trinity)

What has come into being 4 in him was life, and the life was the light of all people.
E3 Acts 14:15 NRSV Friends, why are you doing this? We are mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.
D1 [I believe in] and Jesus Christ
E1 Luke 2:11 NRSV to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.

E2 Proverbs 30:4 GW [To the audience] Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in the palm of his hand? Who has wrapped water in a garment? Who has set up the earth from one end to the other? What is his name or the name of his son? Certainly, you must know!
D3 our Lord:
E1 Romans 1:3 WEL Concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who came from the offspring of David, according to the flesh.
E2 Acts 2:36 WEL “Therefore let the whole house of Israel confidently know that God has made this same Jesus whom you have crucified both Lord and Christ.“
C3 Statement 3 Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
E1 Luke 1:35 PickNT In answer the angel said to her: “Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will hover over you; precisely for this reason the holy One who is to be born will be called ‘Son of God’!
E2 Matthew 1:20 NIV But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
E1 Luke 2:5-7 PickNT to enroll himself with Mary, the woman who had been betrothed to him, 3 who was pregnant. 6, So it happened that when they got there the days for her to give birth were completed; 7, and she gave birth to her firstborn Son, wrapped Him in pieces of cloth and laid Him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the lodging place.

C4 Statement 4: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:
D1 Suffered under Pontius Pilate (further study: Jesus’s suffering, Crucifixion, Body of Christ, Prophecies about Christ)
E1 Luke 23:24-25 GW Pilate decided to give in to their demand. 25 He freed Barabbas, who had been put in prison for rioting and murdering, because that’s what they wanted. But he let them do what they wanted to Jesus.
E2 John 19:1 NIV Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.
E1 John 19:33-34 NIV But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.
E2 Mark 15:43-45 NIV Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph.
Matthew 27:59-60 NIV Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.
John 19:40-42 NIV Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
E1 Psalms 16:10 NKJV For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. (Note, it is written “…my soul in Sheol,” and not body in Sheol).
Luke 23:43 NKJV And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” (Note, some believe that Jesus and the saved criminal went to heaven).
(Also see Ephesians 4:9-10, 1 Peter 3:18-20, Matthew 12:40). “Hell” has 2 compartments as seen in the Lord Jesus speaking of Lazarus and the Rich Man. Lazarus went to a place of comfort, but the Rich Man went to a place of torment. They were in the same place. Each side was separated by a great chasm. Compare Did Jesus Go To Hell?
C5 Statement 5: The third day he rose again from the dead: (further study: here (this is a pdf book by Dr Gary Habermas) and here (Dr. Habermas’ articles and books)).
D1 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 NKJV For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.

E2 Acts 1:9-11 NRSV When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. 11 They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.

D2 Acts 13:2 NKJV As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
D3 1 Corinthians 2:13 NKJV These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
C9 Statement 9: I believe in the holy Christian church: the communion of saints:
E1 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 NKJV For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.
E2 Romans 12:4-5 NKJV For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
E1 1 John 1:3 NKJV that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
E2 John 14:23 NKJV Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

D2 Hebrews 10:17-18 NIV Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.
D1 1 Corinthians 15:12-13 NIV But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
D2 Romans 6:5 NKJV For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.
D3 John 5:28-29 NKJV Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice “and come forth–those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
