Abraham was a liar that risked his wife’s purity (Genesis 20:1-13), yet God used Abraham to be the example of faith, the Father of believers, and to be the Father of nations.

Isaac was a liar that risked his wife’s purity (Genesis 27:1-11), yet God blessed him with the blessings of Abraham.

Jacob was a liar, schemer, cheat (Genesis 27:36, etc.), yet God blessed him with the blessings of Abraham and Isaac; and blessed him with 12 sons.

Moses was a murderer (Exodus 2:12), yet God used him to deliver Israel from slavery, lead the people to the Promised Land, and gifted as a prophet to receive God’s law.

Rahab was a prostitute (Joshua 2), yet God used her to be blessed and an ancestor of the Messiah—Jesus.

David raped Bathsheba and ordered the murder of her husband (2 Samuel 11), yet God used him to win great victories for Israel, as a prophet, as an ancestor for the Messiah, and as the future prince to rule Israel in the Millennium (Ezekiel 37:24-25).

Manasseh hated God by worshipping false gods, defiling the Temple, suppressing Temple worship, and killed many innocent people (2 Chronicles 33:1-20), yet used him to teach all people what repentance is.

Solomon was a multiple adulterer (1 Kings 11:3-4), yet used him to write one of the greatest Gospel tracts ever (Ecclesiastes) showing all that our desires, goals, financial riches, power, wisdom, are worthless and do not bring lasting soul satisfaction (as in Matthew 16:26). All is temporary and smoke. The important thing is to worship God, fear God (believe in Him and serve Him), and keep God’s commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

Jonah directly and purposely defied God (Jonah 1), yet used him to bring great revival.

The thief on the cross was being crucified by the Romans (Luke 23:43), yet blessed him with a great promise of eternal life and a witness to all who read or hear the Bible.

Peter was a denier of his Lord Jesus (Mark 14:66-71), yet used him to bring great repentance to Israel in his preaching and to minister in person and writing to all people (1 & 2 Peter).

Paul was a murderer and violently assaulted innocent people (Acts 8:3, Acts 22:4, Acts 26:9-11, and 1 Timothy 1:13), yet God used him to preach the Gospel to thousands of people and to write many God-inspired letters to the churches.

God can forgive you, use you, and bless you.

Luke 19:10 (EHV) For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Romans 10:9-10 (EHV) Certainly, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and it is with the mouth that a person confesses, resulting in salvation.

That is the message of Good Friday.
