To things or people? So many times we do and it is foolish. Or even worse we say we are strong, we will overcome by our own strength!
Jeremiah 17:5 NKJV
Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord.
Many times in life its not about what you know but who you know. What help knowing the right person can give! Imagine you have a billionaire as your best friend and you fall into financial hardship, what help they could give.
Or if you knew a powerful person perhaps a president or a king as your best friend, what help they could give when any different troubles come!
But what foolishness we as Christians do, when we have God who is more rich than any billionaire, who owns the whole world, and how much powerful is God then any man, God who rules the entire world with the word of his mouth, and yet we seek help from people first instead of God? What foolishness we do so many times. Let us go first with all our troubles to our great helper and friend. Trust him in all things.
That doesn’t mean we don’t go to help to others for assistance, help and advice… these are all right and proper, but if you dont first Trust God and have him as your primary trust and support, and then trust and support more in people instead of God than you are in grave sin.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes.
