Christian and Loyalty to God

James 4:4 (MEV) You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Where is your loyalty, Christian?
Are you seeking the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of this world? Are you seeking to glorify yourself or God the Father?
If you are seeking the things of this world, there are consequences:
  1. Your faith is choked: Matthew 13:22 (MEV) He also who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
  2. Your Bema Seat judgment will be scanty: 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (MEV) Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or stubble, 13 each one’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on the foundation endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss. But he himself will be saved, still going through the fire.
  3. Your fruit bearing will be diminished, and you will be ashamed:
    • John 15:2 (MEV) Every branch in Me that bears no fruit, He takes away. And every branch that bears fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
    • John 15:8 (MEV) My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
  4. You will be considered an adulterer/adulteress: James 4:4 (MEV) You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Let us be faithful to seek God’s kingdom, to glorify our heavenly Father, and to honor our savior—the Lord Jesus.
Not this—> Malachi 1:6 (MEV) A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says the LORD of Hosts to you, O priests, who despise My name.
Seek this—> 1 Peter 3:15 (MEV) But sanctify [set apart as special and first of loyalties] the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to every man who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and fear.
