What is the Fruit of the Spirit?
Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
We are the branches, Jesus is the vine (John 15). The vine supplies all nutrients, including water.
The branches bear fruit since that is what the branches are created to do.
The fruit produced is the effects of the Spirit’s work in our lives.
The nutrients are water (the Holy Spirit as in John 4), and all other nutrients are supplied by the Lord Jesus (the bread of life as in John 6:48).
If we are a Christian, our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).
If we read and study the Scriptures, we have the nutrients to grow (1 Peter 2:2).
The cause of growth is God (1 Corinthians 3:7).
We are blessed.
God is glorified.
Others hear the Gospel and are saved. If they reject the Lord Jesus, the fruit still has beneficial blessings on society.
We are bearing spiritual fruit.
