Does God Receive Glory From Sending People to Hell?

God receives no glory from sending people to hell:

Ezekiel 18:23 (MSB) Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord GOD. Wouldn’t I prefer that he turn from his ways and live?

Ezekiel 18:32 (MSB) For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death, declares the Lord GOD. So repent and live!

Ezekiel 33:11 (MSB) Say to them: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’

1 Timothy 2:4 (MSB) who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Peter 3:9 (MSB) The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.

The only one remotely seen is Ezekiel 39:21 (MSB) I will display My glory among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment that I execute and the hand that I lay upon them.

The most commonly used passage that I know is Romans 9:22-24 (MSB) What if God, intending to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great patience the vessels of His wrath, prepared for destruction? 23 What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the vessels of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory— 24 including us, whom He has called not only from the Jews, but also from the Gentiles?

These are rhetorical questions. God gets glory from His patience. There is nothing indicating God gets glory from sending people to hell.

Another passage is in Exodus 14:4, but even here, God receives glory that He defeated Pharaoh and Egypt’s gods in which they trusted. Exodus 14:4 (MSB) And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will pursue them. But I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So this is what the Israelites did.

God receives glory from people acknowledging His Son, Jesus, as Lord. Philippians 2:9-11 (MSB) Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

God will not give His glory to anything else. No hint of glory from sending people to hell. Isaiah 48:9-11 (MSB) For the sake of My name I will delay My wrath; for the sake of My praise I will restrain it, so that you will not be cut off. 10 See, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. 11 For My own sake, My very own sake, I will act; for how can I let Myself be defamed? I will not yield My glory to another.
