Open, obvious, blatant evil is increasing everywhere in the church, in education, in government, in society, in medicine, in labor, in life. How can anyone find joy and blessings in Christmas?
We have knowledge that these evil times would come.
B1 2 Timothy 3:1-9
C1 Loving themselves above all things, they suppress truth then ignore truth becoming hardened and calloused which leads them to many evils that are listed.
C2 Despite great study and searching, they refuse the truth. The truth bothers them, makes them uncomfortable, and enslaves them to lies.
B2 2 Peter 3:3-4 (Their evil desires overwhelm them, enslave them, and control them, resulting in a slow loss of faith and truth).
B3 2 Timothy 4:3
C1 They do not appreciate and seek sound teaching from the Bible in it plain, normal sense, so they reject the truth and follow clever, appealing, stimulating speakers of lies.
C2 What they teach does very little good. The fruits of their teaching and life leads to further corruption. See Matthew 7:15-16.
C3 These false teachers promise peace even though the people sin and need to repent. See Jeremiah 23:16-17.
God’s promises are still valid.
B1 He is coming again. See Acts 1:10-11, John 14:3, and Matthew 24:30.
B2 He will never leave or forsake us. See Hebrews 13:5 and Psalm 37:28.
B3 He still intercedes for us. Romans 8:34 and 1 John 2:1.
B4 He is still Messiah, our deliverer. Revelation 22:21.
God promised a Messiah to deliver the world from sin and its curse. Lucifer and his evil lose the battle. Jesus wins: He is King of all kings. Genesis 3:15.
After many years God’s promises are proven true.
B1 The angels announce Messiah’s birth in Luke 2:10-11.
B2 Simeon testified that Jesus was the Messiah. See Luke 2:25-35.
B3 Anna prophesied about Him in Luke 2:36-38.
B4 Jesus showed authority over temptation (Mark 1:12-13), nature (Mark 4:35-41), demons (Mark 1:21-27, Mark 5:1-20)), sickness (Mark 1:34), death (John 11:14 and John 11:38-44), and evil wisdom (Mark 12:13-27).
B5 Jesus knows the future (Mark 8:31).
His life and ministry authenticated His credentials of Messiah.
We would surely be judged and sentenced by God for all the laws of God that we broke.
Jesus took our penalty, suffered for our sins, and died taking the wrath of God that we deserved on Him.
We can truly be thankful.
Rev 7:12 WEL Saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and strength [belong] to our God forever and ever. Amen.”
Hebrews 13:20-21 WEL Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Bring you to perfection in every good work to do his will, doing in you that which is well pleasing in his sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.
